Project “SMART BOX RETAIL - Research, experimentation, and industrialization of smart solutions for sensitive spaces in new retail scenarios towards intelligent spaces for showrooming" - Funded by the Marche Region (ID 17242)
Inim for years with the Marche Region on research, development, and technological innovation projects.
The project, presented as part of the call for proposals "Promotion of research and development in the fields of smart specialization," aimed to develop a new model for analyzing consumer behavior based on home automation systems with advanced automatic analysis capabilities based on deep learning and to industrialize the results of the Smartbox research project, funded by the Marche Region, which led to the development of interesting prototypes in the retail sector, in order to create and bring to market the first complete suite of analysis and security tools for commercial spaces with high capabilities for measuring interactions between people (HHI) and between people and space (HSI), continuing its expansion on the international market.
In particular, access control systems, human behavior analysis systems, and merchandise and space security systems have been developed, all integrated on an innovative deep learning layer and aimed at the management and analysis of showrooms and online and offline developments in the retail world.
The results of the project have led to the creation of a working prototype in a retail environment capable of identifying and analyzing customer movements in the retail environment, real-time stock situations, and dangerous situations due to the presence of weapons and blunt objects.
Innovative artificial intelligence system to ensure safety in retail environments.
The system is able to automatically recognize dangerous situations, such as the presence of knives or guns, and activate emergency protocols. The system is based on artificial vision algorithms that analyze images from cameras installed at strategic points in the store. The system is able to distinguish between harmless and potentially dangerous objects and report suspicious situations in real time. The system is a valuable ally in preventing and combating crime in retail environments.
